Major Improvements to Detention Pond and Drainage Infrastructure in Progress

December 3, 2025

The District has commenced a series of essential projects focused on maintaining the functionality and extending the longevity of our community's detention ponds and aging drainage infrastructure. This significant investment aims to improve stormwater management, enhance safety, and upgrade the overall appearance of the pond area.

Project Details: Enhancing Durability and Functionality

The repairs and minor design modifications are specifically intended to reduce future maintenance needs. Key components of the project include:

Outfall Pipe Replacement:

  • The existing drainage pipe located at the east end of the pond requires replacement.
  • This critical upgrade will ensure proper stormwater flow and significantly reduce the risk of erosion or localized flooding.

Rock Wall Repair:

  • Sections of the existing retaining wall will be reconstructed.
  • The use of new, engineered block systems will provide enhanced stability and protect against future slope failure.

Miscellaneous Pond Improvements:

  • Upon completion of the pipe and wall repairs, additional work will be performed.

  • This includes repairing sidewalks around the pond, grading and reseeding disturbed areas, and restoring irrigation systems as necessary.

Timeline and Community Impact

These projects represent a significant investment by The District to maintain vital drainage functionality and improve community safety, along with the overall aesthetics of the pond area.

  • Construction Start: Work has been initiated.

  • Completion: The District anticipates all projects will be completed before the end of the year.

We understand that construction can cause temporary inconvenience. We sincerely appreciate your patience and support as we complete these important improvements for the long-term benefit of the entire community.
